Often people equate the work being undertaken with a career. In other words, a career defined by a position and salary.
However, to equate the work with a career is something not quite right. Work is owned by the company, while a career is ours.
We just forget something important. What is the reason or why do we work?
Through his book, Your Job Is Not Your Career, Rene Suhardono trying to socialize understanding about career alternatives.
In this book, he wrote down his experiences in the world of work so it can find understanding. “In 19700an, moderate trend became soldiers. The 1980s, the trend of civil servants. The 1990s, the trend of bankers. The 2000s, the trend of entrepreneurs. But very few who understand what they’re doing,” adds Rene.
He said the understanding is the happiness and fulfilment career. “Are we happy to do a thing? That’s what we need to answer,” he said.
His efforts to provide insight about careers through the book is part of his campaign “Stop twit”.
